| ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS |
- Graduate student Gabrielle Callaway continues to lead the Scarlet Knights batting .325 with a team-leading 26 hits, 15 RBI and four home runs. Her four HRs are currently tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
- Sophomore Payton Lincavage upped her average to .312 on the season after hitting .385 during the Penn State Series. She leads the Scarlet Knights with 17 runs, which is currently 10th in the Big Ten. Additionally, Lincavage has totaled 24 hits and a trio of doubles.
- Right-hander Ashley Hitchcock has been the go-to on the staff with 77.1 innings inside the circle and 13 starts in her 20 appearances. She has thrown 46 strikeouts.
| ABOUT WISCONSIN |
- The Badgers come to the Rutgers Softball Complex at 8-16 on the season. Wisconsin is coming off back-to-back home weekends which included a 1-3 record against Illinois and taking three of four last weekend against Iowa.
- Freshman Peyton Bannon leads the Badgers hitting .317 and tops the stat sheet with 19 hits, 13 runs, and eight doubles. Junior Megan Donahue, meanwhile leads the Badgers with two home runs and 10 runs batted in.
- Junior right-hander Maddie Schwartz has made 177 appearances with 13 starts inside the circle and has pitched eight complete games and two shutouts. She leads the Badger pitching crops at 95.2 innings pitched, second-most in the Big Ten, and 62 strikeouts. She enters the weekend with a 4-8 record and 2.93 ERA. Senior right-hander Haley Hestekin is 3-2 on the season in her eight appearances having logged 17 strikeouts with a 3.21 ERA.
| PENN STATE SERIES RECAP |
- Rutgers was able to best Penn State in game one last weekend, but Lady Lions came back to take the next three contests for the series.
- The Scarlet Knights extended its win-streak to three off a two-run double from freshman Kayla Bock and a solo shot from fifth-year senior Anyssa Iliopoulos to take the opening game on Friday afternoon, 3-2. However, the streak was halted in the nightcap as the Lady Lions overcame RU's early 2-0 lead for a 10-3 victory.
- Penn State took the series on Saturday with the Lady Lions prevailing 4-2 in game one and coming from behind to take game two 4-3.
- In game one, Penn State took an early 2-0 lead, but Rutgers cut into the home team's lead on a Payton Lincavage RBI double. However, Penn State stayed in front with a fourth-inning home run and added an insurance run with the bases loaded in the fifth.
- In game two, Rutgers went ahead 2-0 in the third with fifth-year senior Hailey Hoklotubbe stealing home and an RBI double by Callaway. RU extended its lead to 3-0 an inning later on a Megan Herka double. Penn State, however, came back with a run in the fifth and did damage in the sixth scoring three runs off three hits to take the win. Graduate student Izzy Berouty threw 5.1 innings not allowing a PSU hit until the fourth inning. Altogether she allowed three hits and one run.
- During the series Lincavage hit .385 during the Penn State series, leading Rutgers with five hits on the weekend. She collected a double and two runs scored.
- Hoklotubbe batted .333 with a trio of hits and two runs scored. She also added a pair of stolen bases.
