| ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS |
- Graduate Student Gabrielle Callaway continues to lead RU at the plate hitting .333 with 30 hits, five doubles and a team-leading four home runs. She has been responsible for 15 RBIs and 14 runs. Callaway enters the weekend on a seven-game hitting streak.
- Sophomore Payton Lincavage, meanwhile, leads RU with 18 runs scored and is second behind Callaway in hits with 25. She is batting .287 with a trio of doubles, two home runs including one against the Badgers last weekend, and seven RBIs.
- Classmate Kiersten Withstandley leads the Scarlet Knights with 11 runs batted in and has also registered 14 hits.
- Sophomore Ashley Hitchcock leads all Scarlet Knight pitchers with 84.1 innings inside the circle. She has totaled 53 strikeouts in 22 appearances. In her 14 starts, Hitchcock has logged four complete games.
| ABOUT OHIO STATE |
- The Buckeyes welcome the Scarlet Knights with a 14-13 record and are coming off a 1-3 weekend at Indiana.
- As a team, Ohio State is fifth in the Big Ten in hitting at a .257 clip led by Mariah Rodriguez batting .351 on the season. Rodriguez has collected 26 hits, four doubles, two triples, seven RBIs and nine runs scored. Tegan Cortelletti, meanwhile, is batting .337 leading the Buckeyes and ranking sixth in the Big Ten with 31 hits along with 13 runs scored. Ohio State also features the Big Ten's leader in home runs with Sam Hackenbracht having hit seven long-distance balls to date.
- Payton Buresch leads the pitching staff with a 2.09 ERA with a 7-3 record in 17 appearances and 83.2 innings pitched. She has started 14 contests with four complete games and tossed 34 strikeouts. Allison Smith is 7-9 inside the circle with a 3.18 ERA in 19 appearances. She has collected seven complete games in her 12 games started in 88.0 innings. Smith's 87 strikeouts are fifth in the conference.
| WISCONSIN SERIES RECAP |
- Last weekend against Wisconsin, freshman Leilani Chavez hit 3-for-7 to hit .429 over the four-game series with two doubles, a triple and an RBI.
- Scarlet Knight leading hitter Gabrielle Callaway batted .400 in the series, including her fifth double of the season.
- Other notable plate appearances including sophomore Payton Lincavage connecting on her second home run of 2021 and third of her career and freshman Kayla Bock collecting her team-leading sixth double of the season.
- In game two on Saturday against the Badgers, sophomores Ashley Hitchcock and Jaden Vickers combined for a team season-high nine strikeouts. Hitchcock in the start sent down four Wisconsin batters, while Vickers came from the bullpen to retire five.
