Tennis Travels for Two Road Matches this Weekend

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis hits the road for two matches this weekend. The Scarlet Knights first visits UMass on Saturday, February 12 for a 1 p.m. match. RU then travels to UConn on Sunday, February 13 for a 10:30 a.m. ET contest.
Rutgers (3-1) claimed two victories at home last weekend, defeating Drexel by a score of 6-1 on Friday. The Scarlet Knights then earned a victory over St. John's by a margin of 5-2 on Sunday.
Senior Tess Fisher, the Big Ten Athlete of the Week, highlighted the outing with the program's first singles victory over a ranked individual opponent over No. 112 Mouna Bouzgarrou of SJU. Fisher added two singles wins at the No. 1 and a doubles victory also at the No. 1 position across the two team victories.
Freshman Minchae Kim and Fisher lead the Scarlet Knights with a 3-0 record as a doubles pair. Sophomore Daira Cardenas, freshman Jackeline Lopez and Kim pace the squad with three singles wins each this year.
