No. 14 Women’s Lacrosse Continues Homestand Saturday with Villanova

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 14 Rutgers women's lacrosse (5-0) closes its homestand when it hosts Villanova (1-4) on Saturday at SHI Stadium. First draw is set for 1 p.m. ET and will stream on Big Ten Plus. Admission to all 2022 home games is free.
Parking for 2022 women's lacrosse home games is also free, but visitors must register their vehicle with the University through this link. Visitors only need to register their vehicle once for the entire season. Parking for 2022 home games is in the Scarlet Lot outside the West entrance of SHI Stadium.
Last Time Out
Graduate student Taralyn Naslonski collected the 200th point of her career as Rutgers delivered a 19-8 victory over Monmouth on Wednesday night in Piscataway. The win provided the Scarlet Knights with their second 5-0 start to a season in program history and the first since the 2010 campaign.
Naslonski and junior Cassidy Spilis. each netted five goals to lead nine different goal scorers against the Hawks. Graduate student Stephanie Kelly dished out three assists, while senior Marin Hartshorn and Ashley Campo netted two goals apiece.
RU matched its best start in program history with a total team effort, as it outshot Monmouth, 39-23, doubled the visitor's output on the draw by a 20-10 margin and forced the Hawks into 19 turnovers. Spilis caused a game-high three turnovers to help the defensive cause, while classmate Meghan Ball secured a game-high eight draw controls.

Rutgers remained No. 14 in both the ILWomen/IWLCA Coaches poll and the Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 20. Five Big Ten programs are ranked after the first two weeks of the season – No. 4 Maryland, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 8 Michigan, No. 14 Rutgers and No. 20 Johns Hopkins. Penn State also received votes in the coaches poll.
Approaching Milestones
The Wildcats are 1-4 this season and lost to Saint Joseph's, 16-12, this Wednesday in their last time out. Caroline Curnal scored a career-high five goals in the contest, while also securing nine draw controls. Both statistics led all players in the game.
Curnal leads the program in points (14) and goals (12) through the team's first five games, while Cara Moreau has dished out a team-best six helpers. Molly Dunphey has caused a team-high seven turnovers and Alexa Moro has scooped up 15 ground balls. Moro has started all five games in cage this season and owns a 12.60 goals-against average and a .438 save percentage.

Rutgers leads the all-time series with Villanova, 23-2. Villanova won the last meeting between the two schools, 18-12, on March 13, 2018 in Philadelphia.
