
Five From Field Hockey Tabbed by Senior Nexus Championship

Molyneaux, Heck, Kidd, Fraticelli and Olshemski Recognized for USA Field Hockey event
PISCATAWAY, N.J – USA Field Hockey announced the athletes that were selected to compete in the 2024 Senior Nexus Championship, which will be held at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. from July 14 to 16. Five student-athletes that are set to compete for Rutgers field hockey this fall were recognized among the selections for the event. Fifth year senior Bridy Molyneaux and incoming transfer Kara Heck were selected for the event, with incoming transfer Madelyn Kidd, along with current sophomores Olivia Fraticelli and Maddie Olshenski selected as alternates.
"We are so proud of all our athletes who trained for Senior Nexus," head coach Meredith Civico said. "It shows their level of commitment to the program. For those selected for the tournament in Virginia Beach, we wish them the best of luck as they compete alongside and against the best in the USA. I have no doubt they will showcase the very best of Rutgers Field Hockey."
The Senior NXC is held annually and features 144 elite collegiate and post-collegiate athletes. During the spring and early summer, athletes trialed and trained at one of the seven USA Field Hockey High Performance Centers throughout the country for an opportunity to be selected to the Senior NXC. All athletes that were previously named to the U.S. U-18, U-21, and Development Women's National Teams were also included within the selection. A step along the Olympic Development Pathway program, the Senior NXC serves as a selection opportunity for the 2024-25 U.S. U-21 Women's National Team Selection Camps, Junior USWNT Selection Camps, U.S. Women's National Development Squad and U.S. Women's National Team. The event will start with a team training session on Sunday, July 14 with games starting on Monday, July 15.
Molyneaux is set for her fifth season with the Scarlet Knights. Over her career, the Fair Haven, N.J. native has played in 75 games (starting 45 at forward) and scored 18 goals with two assists. She has eight game-winning goals in that time and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Heck is set to join the Scarlet Knights after spending four seasons with Boston College, where she was named Second Team All-ACC and First Team All-Northeast Region last season. Overall, Heck played in 37 games and scored 10 goals with three assists for 23 points. Heck started all 17 games over this past season with 14 points (six goals, two assists).
Fraticelli is set for her second season 'On the Banks", having seen action in nine games with one start in her debut campaign, where she was also named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. A product of Toms River North HS, she was the 2022 national scoring champion with 89 goals as a senior.
Olshemski transferred to Rutgers for the past spring semester after spending the fall of 2023 at Indiana. With the Hoosiers, the native of Shavertown, Pa. played in 11 games during her freshman season, making one start. She will make her fourth appearance at the Nexus Championships.
Kidd joins the Scarlet Knights after spending her first collegiate season at Sacred Heart, where she was an all-conference selection. In her season with the Pioneers, Kidd played in all 20 games, starting 18, and scored five goals with five assists for 15 points, leading the squad in assists and placing second on the team in goals and points. A Second Team All-NEC Selection, Kidd was named to the NEC Championship All-Tournament Team as she helped the Pioneers win the NEC championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, assisting on the game-winning goal in the championship game.
