A New Jersey native, guard Austin Williams joins Rutgers for his final season of collegiate basketball. He has previously played at FIU (2022-23), Hartford (2019-22) and Marist (2017-19). In his career, he has played in 111 games, starting 54, and averaged 9.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He has scored over 1,000 points for his collegiate career.

- Joined Florida International University (FIU) for the 2022-23 season, but sat out due to a knee injury
- Was at Hartford for three seasons, sitting out the first season due to NCAA transfer rules, then playing in 2020-21 and 2021-22
- Was a two-time all-league selection at Hartford, averaging 15.1 points per game over the two seasons
- In his graduate season (2021-22), he notched a team-high 16.1 points per game marked fourth in the America East and shot a career-best 50 percent from the field.
- He also chipped in with 5.2 rebounds per game and 3.4 assists per game.
- Williams started every game for the Hawks and scored in double figures a team-best 23 times
