Loyola, which holds a 48-16 advantage against ECAC foes this season, improves to 5-4 overall and 4-0 in league play. The Greyhounds were led by freshman Matt Langan who tallied a game-high three goals. Ten different players scored for Loyola.

The Greyhounds would build onto their lead from that point though as Rutgers did not score for the next 17:13, spanning the second and third quarters. A 5-0 Loyola run gave the Greyhounds a commanding 10-2 lead midway through the third quarter. Donahue posted his fifth goal on the season to make the score 10-3, but Loyola would hold RU scoreless the rest of the way and end the game on another 5-0 run to seal the victory.
