PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After playing five straight home games, Rutgers is back on the road for the first time since Feb. 14 as they travel down to Delaware. The game will begin at 12 p.m. at noon at Delaware Stadium. There will be a free live stream available on BlueHens.com.
The Scarlet Knights are looking to halt a three-game losing streak, coming off a loss to Stony Brook in their last game. RU is led offensively by Scott Bieda, who had four assists last game to give him a team-high 12 assists and 23 points, and Christian Trasolini, who had four goals last game to give him a team-high 15 goals. Joe Nardella leads the team with 61 ground balls and is 104-of-148 on faceoffs (.703 percent), a mark that is third best in the nation.
Delaware enters the contest at 3-4, falling 11-4 to Binghamton its last time out. They have garnered wins this season over two teams that were receiving votes in the national poll in Bucknell and Holy Cross. The Blue Hens have a balanced offensive attack, with Tom Holland leading the team with 13 goals. Beau Jones has a team-high 17 points, followed shortly by Brian Kormondy (15 points) and Holland (14). In goal, Brett Anton is 3-3 with a 9.22 goalsagainst average and a .531 save percentage.
Rutgers holds a 15-9 lead in the all-time series against Delaware, which dates back to 1951. The Blue Hens have captured the last three victories, with the most recent game coming in 2008. Delaware's coaching staff includes two former Rutgers assistant coaches. Associate Head Coach Byron Collins spent the 2014 season as a Rutgers assistant, while assistant coach Noah Fossner was "On the Banks" from 2012 to 2013.
