Rutgers Game Notes

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -
Rutgers men's lacrosse will continue its homestand Saturday night, hosting Delaware at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Stadium. The game marks the conclusion of the nonconference schedule.

Saturday's giveaway will feature free lacrosse balls and $1 hot dogs. The game will be live-streamed as a single-camera production on BTN Plus.

"The CAA top-to-bottom is very competitive lacrosse wise," head coach Brian Brecht said. "To have a CAA team coming in, a geographical rival considering the close proximity of the schools, a night game, it's certainly going to be exciting for our guys. It's a great opportunity to keep raising the bar going into Big Ten play."

Rutgers enters the contest at 6-2 on the year after most recently beating NJIT 16-3. The team will play five of their last seven games at home, and are in the midst of four straight home contests. The Scarlet Knights have excelled at ground balls (36.13 per game) and clears (92.7 percent success rate) this season, ranking top-three in the nation in both categories.

Delaware brings a 3-6 record into the game. The Blue Hens are led offensively by Andrew Romagnoli (15 goals, five assists) and Paul Major (12 goals, eight assists), with the pair sharing the team lead with 20 points. Between the pipes for UD is Parker Ferrigan, who has a .420 save percentage and 10.73 goals-against average.

Rutgers holds a 16-9 lead in the all-time series against Delaware, which dates back to 1951. Last season, RU earned a 17-12 road win in the first meeting between the programs since 2008. Scott Bieda led the way with five goals, while Christian Trasolini tallied four times. Kris Alleyne made 10 saves, including five stops in the fourth quarter, to earn the win. Delaware associate Head Coach Byron Collins spent the 2014 season as a Rutgers assistant.
