Know Your Knights: Austyn Cuneo

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Austyn Cuneo has made a big impact in her first season as a member of the Rutgers field hockey squad. A transfer from UNC, the redshirt sophomore started every game this season as a member of the team's backline. She has also contributed at the offensive end, total ling five goals and five assists for 15 points, which ranks third on the team.
A star high school player, Cuneo set the national prep records for career goals (328) and goals in a season (96 in 2013). Transferring to Rutgers gave her the opportunity to resume her field hockey career in her home state. A Waterford Works, N.J. native, Cuneo is set to major in Public Health.

Rituals I have before, during or after a game are: I braid my hair and many teammates hair, I wear the same scrunchie my friends gave me for every game, I wear the same mid-calf socks under my shin guards for every game also given to me by my friends for good luck, and I wear a special wristband with Babci written on it in honor of my grandmother
If I didn't have to sleep, I would do this with my extra time: binge watch Netflix
