PISCATAWAY, N.J. - No. 14 Rutgers men's lacrosse will take to the road for the second time this season on Saturday, travelling up to Connecticut for a meeting with Fairfield. The Scarlet Knights will be looking to improve to 3-0 on the season. The game starts at noon and will be broadcast by Lax Sports Network.

RU has opened the year with wins over St. John's and Army West Point. The team won a battle against the Black Knights last Saturday in the home opener, downing Army 12-10. The Scarlet Knights were led by three goals from Jules Heningburg and a career-best 15 saves from goalkeeper Max Edelmann. Rutgers led 12-6 before a late four-goal run from Army, but Edelmann made three key saves in the final 1:15 to preserve the victory.

On the season, Heningburg paces the squad with seven goals. Fellow starting attackers in senior Connor Murphy and freshman Kieran Mullins each have four tallies, while midfielders Casey Rose and Christian Scarpello both have three apiece.

Fairfield, who started the season ranked No. 20, is 1-1 on the year. After taking a season-opening 15-3 loss at Richmond, they responded with a 13-12 win at Bucknell. Colin Burke, the CAA Preseason Player of the Year and an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American, leads the team with five goals and seven points. Tyler Behring, a First Team All-CAA selection last year, has a .489 save percentage and 13.71 goals-against-average in 105 minutes of action. The Stags were 9-8 last season and made the team's first-ever trip to the CAA Championship Game.

Rutgers and Fairfield will meet for the seventh time, with the Stags leading 4-2. Last season, in the first meeting since 2009, the Scarlet Knights doubled up the visitors 12-6. Heningburg had four goals in that game and Edelmann made seven saves in the first three quarters. Fairfield won the previous four matchups before that, with RU taking the win in the first ever meeting on a triple-overtime game-winning goal in 2004 by Tim White.
