PISCATAWAY, N.J. - No. 10 Rutgers men's lacrosse hosts its first midweek contest on the year on Tuesday, when RU welcomes Wagner for a 3 p.m. game inside High Point Solutions Stadium. The game will be nationally broadcast on Big Ten Network, with Pete Medhurst and Mark Dixon on the call. The game will be first of five Rutgers games this season to be televised on BTN.

The Scarlet Knights enter the matchup at 3-0, and moved up to number 10 in the national rankings in Monday's edition of the USILA Coaches Poll. The ranking was the team's highest since the 2004 season, when Rutgers made its last trip to the NCAA Tournament. The game is the first of a four-game homestand for Rutgers, which also includes three games against teams currently ranked or receiving votes in the national polls.

The Scarlet Knights have remained unbeaten with road wins against St. John's and Fairfield, and a home triumph against now-No. 16 Army West Point. Last Saturday, RU went to Fairfield and was led by a tremendous defensive effort in an 8-3 victory. In holding the Stags to just three goals, Rutgers had its lowest total against by a non-independent team since 2011. Chris Groel led the team with seven ground balls, while Michael Rexrode (three ground balls, two caused turnovers) shut down CAA Preseason Player of the Year Colin Buke. Despite entering the game with 51 goals in 19 career games, Rexrode held Burke goal-less. With the win, head coach Brian Brecht claimed his 100th career coaching victory.

Wagner enters the day at 1-2, claiming a 9-8 victory over Lafayette and taking losses to Monmouth (10-8) and Manhattan (14-13). The Seahawks are led by Andrew Streilein (six goals, eight points) and Joe Lomeli (five goals, seven points). Nick Warren is 14-of-31 on faceoffs, while Matt Sefcik has a .556 save percentage and 10.19 goals-against-average.

Rutgers has won all eight lifetime meetings against Wagner. Last season, the Scarlet Knights claimed a 15-7 win in Staten Island behind four goals from Jules Heningburg. The matchup has been contested annually since 2009, alternating home and road sites.
