PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse senior attackman Jules Heningburg was named to the National Player of the Watch List, the USILA announced Wednesday. Heningburg, who is also on the Watch List for the Tewaaraton Award, has a team-best 32 goals, 29 assists and 61 points on the season. He has set career high in assists and points this season, leading the Big Ten in both categories.
Heningburg joins Scott Bieda (66 points in 2016) as the only Rutgers players to reach 60 points in a season in the last 17 years, and is the only one to do so in that span in the regular season. Prior to that, Keith Cromwell (73 points) did so in 2000. The Maplewood, N.J. native sits just four points outside Rutgers' single-season top ten list for points in a season.
In his career, Heningburg has 112 goals (eighth all-time at RU), 84 assists (11th all-time at RU) and 196 points (fourth all-time at RU). Heningburg is just six points away from second place all-time 'On the Banks'.
Heningburg is a two-time team captain and was an All-American last season. His 16-game goal scoring streak is third longest in the nation, and his 34-game point scoring streak is the 11th longest in the nation. He was selected in the first round (seventh overall) of Wednesday's MLL Draft by the Florida Launch.
