
Men's Lacrosse Mourns the Passing of Mike Schambach

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse mourns the loss of alumn Mike Schambach, who passed away Thursday at the age of 38.
Schambach was a four-year member of the men's lacrosse team and a two-year starter. In 2003, he was key contributor to a squad that earned a No. 7 national ranking and appeared in the NCAA Tournament. He graduated from Rutgers in the spring of 2003 earning a Bachelor of Arts in history.
Schambach was most recently the head men's lacrosse coach at Montclair State. Prior to that he spent three seasons as the head coach of DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa, and worked as an assistant coach of FDU-Florham. Schambach played high school lacrosse under Rutgers alumn Chuck Apel at Bridgewater-Raritan High School
