Abigail Knapton To Compete at USA Diving Winter Nationals

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Former Scarlet Knight diver Abigail Knapton will be in action this week at the 2022 USA Diving Winter National Championship in Morgantown, West Virginia. A 2020 US Olympic Trials and five-time NCAA qualifier, Knapton will be competing on 3M on Saturday, December 17 with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals underway at 4 p.m.
Knapton closed out her final year of eligibility "On The Banks" as a First Team All-American with a seventh place finish at NCAAs on platform and as a Second Team All-American on 3-meter after finishing in 11th place.
Knapton's historic season at Rutgers included a pair of NCAA Zone A championships on platform and 3-meter along with a new platform school record of 332.25.
Last year at USA Diving Winter Nationals, Knapton and her diving partner, Janie Boyle from the University of Texas, scored 462.84 to place third in women's synchronized platform. She also joined teammate Savana Trueb in competing in the platform final and reached finals on 3-meter. On 3-meter, she finished 11th with a final score of 496.35, while on platform she took ninth scoring 542.55.
