He becomes third RU current player picked up by PLL club
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse short-stick defensive midfielder Brennan Kamish was signed by the Whipsnakes of the Premier Lacrosse League. He was added by the club to their 30-man roster for training camp. Kamish becomes the third current Scarlet Knight to be picked up by a PLL club this month, joining Colin Kirst (Cannons) and Mitch Bartolo (Redwoods) who were drafted in the PLL College Draft.
Kamish was recently named an All-American by both USA Lacrosse Magazine (Second Team) and Inside Lacrosse (Third Team). He has been among the top short-stick defensive midfielders in the nation this season. The Wixom, Mich. native had career-bests with 21 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, also adding three goals. In 48 games at Rutgers, Kamish has 16 goals, six assists, 45 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
Following those pickups, Rutgers has 11 players on PLL rosters, which ranks third nationally and second in the Big Ten. Last season, RU was represented by eight alumns in the PLL: Joe Nardella and Connor Kirst (Whipsnakes), Christian Mazzone and Christian Scarpello (Waterdogs), Michael Rexrode and Kyle Pless (Atlas), Jules Heningburg (Redwoods) and Adam Charalambides (Cannons). Rutgers also had three players represent RU in this season's indoor league. Adam Charalambides (Vancouver Warriors), Joe Nardella (Albany Firewolves) and Connor Kirst (Georgia Swarm) all excelled during this season's NLL action.
