
Three From Men’s Lacrosse Named All-Americans by USILA

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Three student-athletes from Rutgers men's lacrosse were named All-Americans by the USILA, the coaches association. Ethan Rall was named to the First Team, Shane Knobloch to the Second Team, and Ross Scott was an Honorable Mention Selection. With these three All-American selections, RU's all-time count of All-American seasons increases to 233.
Ethan Rall, who was named to the First Team, is an All-American for the third straight season. This is the second time he was tabbed to the First Team on an All-American listing, along with the list from USA Lacrosse Magazine. The long-stick midfielder caused 21 turnovers and collected 49 ground balls. A Second Team All-Big Ten selection, Rall finished his 62-game Rutgers career with 85 caused turnovers, setting a new program record. The Islip, N.Y. native was a two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, finishing second in the league in caused turnovers per game and sixth in the Big Ten in ground balls per game (second among non-faceoff specialists).
Knobloch earns All-American accolades from the USILA for the third time in his three seasons "On the Banks", with this marking his highest placement. The Second Team All-Big Ten selection scored 21 goals and added 17 assists for 38 points, sharing the team-high in assists and was second on the team in points. The Moorestown, N.J. native, had five multi-goal games including four hat tricks and had three games of at least five points, highlighted by a seven-point day in a win over No.5 Loyola. The midfielder scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the team's win over eventual Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan.

A Second Team All-Big Ten selection and one of the 25 finalists for the Tewaaraton Award, he scored 25 goals and had 17 assists for a team-best 42 points, also sharing the team-lead in assists. The West Linn, Ore. native finished in the top-10 in the Big Ten in goals and assists per game. The team captain and attackman had six multi-goal games, including two games of five goals.
Rutgers finished its season with an 8-6 record. The Scarlet Knights were nationally ranked for the entire season, peaking at No. 6, and finished at No. 15 in the RPI. RU claimed four wins over NCAA Tournament teams, three wins over teams in the top-15 of the selection RPI, and their three ranked wins during the year including a win over then-No. 5 Loyola.
All-time, Rutgers has had 151 different players earn All-American honors. Overall, RU has garnered All-American honors 237 times.
