Men's Soccer Releases 2025 Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Head coach of the Rutgers men's soccer team Jim McElderry announced the anticipated 2025 fall schedule Monday afternoon. The 17-match campaign will feature eight home games at Yurcak Field and nine on the road.

"I am excited about his 2025 schedule," McElderry said. "We have some new opponents this season and we will be tested both at home and on the road. Our first four games are versus teams who have had success over the past few years."

The Scarlet Knights will kick off summer with the Red and White game at Yurcak Field on Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. This will showcase the majority of the roster before getting into the full campaign.

Rutgers will officially open the 2025 fall slate against Providence on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The squad will then hit the road for four consecutive contests at Seton Hall (Aug. 24), James Madison (Aug. 29), William & Mary (Sept. 1) and Princeton (Sept. 5).

"Providence and Seton Hall are always top opponents, and I am looking forward to continuing the rivalry with Seton Hall in the future," McElderry added. "The following weekend we are traveling to James Madison and William & Mary. We want to play high level programs and both JMU and W&M are going to be top level opponents. We continue our series with Princeton and add a few local programs in Monmouth and FDU to the 2025 schedule. These will be great matches for New Jersey soccer fans."

RU will return to Yurcak for its Big Ten opener against Penn State on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. The team will continue conference play with a trip to Northwestern on Sept. 19.

Rutgers will host three matches in a row to close out September, including a pair of New Jersey foes with FDU (Sept. 23) and Monmouth (Sept. 30) to round out nonconference play. The team will also welcome Ohio State (Sept. 26) sandwiched between.

"The Big Ten schedule will be one of the toughest in the nation," added McElderry. "All the matches are difficult and our guys love playing these top programs. Our match at home against Washington on Homecoming Weekend will be one of the highlights of the season."

The Scarlet Knights will travel to Michigan on Oct. 5 for their only Sunday matinee of the season at 2 p.m.

McElderry and his team will finish the season trading off between home and away games, starting with hosting Wisconsin on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. From there, the team will take the short drive to Maryland on Oct. 14.

The team will face two west coast opponents back-to-back in their second Big Ten seasons. RU will welcome Washington (Oct. 17) at 7 p.m. as part of Homecoming Weekend. Rutgers football will host Oregon the following day (Oct.18) at 6:30 or 7 p.m. The team will then go out to UCLA on Oct. 24.

The Scarlet Knights will return east to face Michigan State on Halloween (Oct. 31) at 7 p.m. at Yurcak Field. Finally, the squad will end the regular season at Indiana on Nov. 7.

"This schedule puts us in a position to be tested both in conference and with our out of conference schedule," McElderry said. "We have an exciting group returning and as always, the expeditions will be high. Looking forward to having our fans see the Scarlet Knights in 2025."
