Gevonte Ware, a dynamic big known for his versatile skill set and explosive athleticism, was a highly touted prospect with a reputation of a relentless work ethic. He chose the Scarlet Knights as the next step in his promising basketball journey. Ware is a 6-foot-9, 255-pound, three-star center and landed with the Scarlet Knights after receiving offers from Alabama, Wake Forest, Arizona State, Duquesne and Charleston.

2024-2025 Season at 1-of-1:

- Helped lead 1-of-1 to a stellar 22-4 record, raking #14 in the entire state of North Carolina
- Appeared in 18 games, averaging 10.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 9.7 rebounds, with 174 total boards
- Led his academy by shooting 54% from the field 
- Tallied 23 Steals and 16 blocks in his senior season
- Appeared in the top 3 of six different team offensive and defensive stat categories

- Consensus 3 Star Recruit by ESPN, Rivals, and 247sports
- A top 10 player in North Carolina, Ware is ranked 104th nationally as a four-star recruit by On3.com
- 176th overall and the 39th best center in the nation per 247sports.com
- Earned the MVP award of the Larry Hughes Elite Camp in late August
- Compiled 19 DI offers, ultimately choosing the Scarlet Knights over Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State
- Named to the All Defensive team and 3rd All Tournament Team in the PRO16 Memphis Circuit

Personal:
- Ware verbally committed to Rutgers in front of a crowd of close family and friends on Sept. 23 and committed to the Scarlet Knights on National Signing Day
- Born and raised in Roosevelt, New York, before leaving in pursuit of better opportunities in Charlotte, Ware found an opportunity playing for head coach and former NBA player Jermaine Jackson at LaMelo Ball 1-of-1 Elite AAU program
