Badalau joins the Scarlet Knights as a native of Romania who played last season in Serie A in Italy. At just 19 years old, Badalau has experience against professionals in Europe and looks to bring his 6-foot-8 frame to the Big Ten Conference this fall. 

2024–25 Season with Aquila, Trento (Serie A, Italy):

• Appeared in 7 games, averaging 7.6 minutes, 1.9 points, and 1.3 rebounds per game.

• Totaled 13 rebounds and 2 assists during his time in Serie A.

• Scored a season-high 8 points vs. Napoli (May 10).

2024–25 EuroCup Season:

• Played in 6 games, averaging 3.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 11.3 minutes per game.

• Shot 50% from inside the arc, just under 40% from three-point range, and was perfect from the free-throw line.

• Recorded 7 points vs. Besiktas (Feb. 5).

2024–25 FIBA World Cup Season (Romanian National Team):

• Averaged just under 16.0 points per game in 26.0 minutes, shooting 51% from the field, 45% from three, and 88% from the line.

• Notable performance: tallied 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals in a win over Norway (85–71).

• Scored a career-high 25 points against Bulgaria (July 17).
