Scholastic: Ranked No. 25 overall prospect in North Carolina and No. 1 first baseman by Perfect Game … ranked No. 3 first baseman in North Carolina by Prep Baseball Report … set for senior season at Palisades under head coach Mike Pirro … hit .400 as a junior with a 1.264 OPS, seven home runs, five doubles, one triple, 25 RBIs and 25 runs scored … hit .466 as a sophomore with two home runs, seven doubles, one triple, 25 RBIs, 22 runs and 12 stolen bases … also played football in high school.
Personal: Son of Melvin and Anna Wearing … has one sister, Ella … dad, Melvin, played baseball at Norfolk State and was drafted in 1989 MLB Draft by Baltimore Orioles, playing 13 seasons of professional baseball … intends to study finance.
