Frazier Earns Spot in Cape League All-Star Game

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rising junior Jeff Frazier (Toms River, NJ) was recently selected to play in the 2003 Cape Cod League All-Star game, which took place in Falmouth, MA on Saturday, July 26. Frazier was a reserve for the East squad, which defeated the West, 3-1. Frazier, who entered the game in the sixth inning and played right field, was 0-for-2 in the contest.
The league all-stars were honored at Fenway Park on Thursday, July 24 and attended a pre-game banquet at Balleymeade Country Club in North Falmouth on Friday evening as part of the all-star festivities.
Through games of July 28, Frazier is hitting .252 with two home runs, eight doubles and 20 RBI in the wooden bat league, considered to be the best amateur summer league in the country. He is ranked third in the league in both doubles and RBI. He has been among the league’s hottest hitters lately, raising his average nearly 50 points over the previous three weeks of play. His success has coincided with the Chatham’s rise in the league standings, as the A’s have won five of its last six games. Chatham is currently 20-16-1 and in third place in the East standings.
Frazier is the fifth Scarlet Knight in the last six years to earn All-Star status in the Cape Cod League, joining Mike O’Brien (1998), David DeJesus (1999), Bobby Brownlie (2001) and Val Majewski (2002).
