
Scarlet Wins Game Three

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - In game three of the Rutgers Fall World Series, the Scarlet came back to score two in the top of the seventh to win 3-2 Monday at Bainton Field. The squad is now just one win away from clinching the set, leading 2-1 in a best-of-five format.
Freshman Patrick Knight (Cranford, N.J.) pitched three shutout innings to keep the Scarlet in the game and earn the win. The left-hander struck out three in the relief outing. Following up, redshirt freshman Jordan Matthews (Teaneck, N.J.) tossed a scoreless frame to collect his second save.
Offensively, sophomore Kyle Walker (Piscataway, N.J.) blasted a solo home run for the Scarlet, while sophomore Doug deMarrais (Bernardsville, N.J.) connected for an RBI triple. Additionally, freshman Thomas Genuario (Saddle Brook, N.J.) recorded a run batted in.
Game four of the series is Wednesday.
