Baseball Announces Recruiting Class

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Head coach Joe Litterio and the Rutgers baseball program have announced the signing of seven players to its most recent recruiting class. Five players hail from the state of New Jersey, with one apiece from New York and Pennsylvania.
The group includes Anthony Condito (Nutley, N.J.), Kenny Cruz (Rochester, N.Y.), Kyle Gerace (Linwood, N.J.), Kyle Muller (Hamilton, N.J.), Tevin Murray (Ringtown, Pa.), Eric Reardon (North Brunswick, N.J.) and Kevin Welsh (Columbus, N.J.).
"Coach Reilly and Coach Gaynor did a great job with this class," Litterio said. "I feel they have brought in a class that meets the needs of the team moving forward in the Big Ten. Not only is this class talented athletically, they also get it done in the classroom and in their communities. I am proud to welcome them into the Rutgers Scarlet Knights family."

Notes: Rated the No. 1 outfield prospect out of New York … plays high school baseball for School of the Arts and travel for Team Valle … named Rochester City Athletic Conference Player of the Year and first-team all-county as a junior in 2014 … hit .438 with a .645 on-base percentage … also pitched 14 innings and struck out 25 … holds the highest GPA in the Rochester County School District at 4.25 … recipient of the "Do the Right Thing Award" and "Young Men's Leadership Award" … a member of the high honor roll and earned academic excellence award … intends to major in exercise science in college … son of Lizaida Cruz and Norberto Guzman … has two younger siblings, Nayeli Guzman and Zulema Guzman.
