
Fall Series: Carter Homers to Even Series

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Mike Carter broke an 8-8 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning with a booming solo home run to help the Scarlet take game two of the Rutgers Fall Series, 11-9. The series is now tied at one.
In a high-scoring affair, Carter earned MVP honors for the game with the decisive long ball and added an RBI single and three runs scored. Luke Bowerbank, Kyle Walker and Anthony Grecco also had two hits apiece for the Scarlet, while Kevin Blum contributed two RBIs in the offensive attack.
On the mound, Max Herrmann struck out four in a two-inning start, with Dante Scafidi (1-0) collecting the win. Kyle Muller worked a scoreless frame for the hold and Ryan Wares nailed down the save by inducing a double play with the tying run at the plate.
Tom Marcinczyk continued to swing a hot bat for the Knights with three hits, three runs, three RBIs and a home run in the game. Both Chris Folinusz and Milo Freeman tripled, as Carmen Sclafani scored twice. Serafino Brito allowed no earned runs over two innings in the start.
Games three and four of the series will take place next week on a date to be announced.
