PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Hosting 120 golfers and raising $25,000 towards the program, Rutgers baseball held a successful golf outing on Oct. 16 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, New Jersey. It was highest attended and most supported outing in the event's three-year history. The funds will be used for equipment and other upgrades around the program.
Â
"Thank you to everyone who attended and sponsored our golf outing," head coach
Joe Litterio said. "It was great to see the number of alumni and supporters almost double this year. Raising over $25,000 will help us add new hitting machines, field screens, portable pitching mounds and others items to help the program in many ways. I received great feedback and want to thank the baseball golf outing committee for putting on a great event. Next year we are going to have the event on Oct. 8, Columbus Day. Mark your calendars!"

In addition to the round on the course, a silent auction was staged that included a Patrick Kivlehan "Believe" jersey from Player's Weekend, a Todd Frazier signed baseball, Yankees tickets, a luxury car experience and an African safari. Kivlehan, a member of the Cincinnati Reds, was in attendance along with Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs, Rutgers Hall of Famer
Marco Battaglia and many others. The day concluded with a reception in the clubhouse.
Â
As previously mentioned, the 2018 outing is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8. Registration details and sponsorship information will be announced in the coming months.
