Scarlet Knights Compete Against Hawkeyes at Site of This Year's B1G Championships on Friday at 3 p.m. and Meet Iowa State on Saturday at 11 a.m.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's swimming and diving program is off to the Midwest for a pair of meets this weekend. The Scarlet Knights travel to Iowa City to meet the Iowa Hawkeyes at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, site of the 2020 Big Ten Championships, on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. (ET) and then make their way over to Ames to take on Iowa State on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. (ET).

| LAST TIME OUT |
- Rutgers swimming and diving won all 19 events to dominate the Preseason Tune-Up meet featuring Seton Hall and Rider.
- Sophomore Terka Grusova had her hand in six victories for the Scarlet Knights with three individuals wins (100 back, 200 back & 200 IM) and three relay (200 free, 400 free & 200 medley) victories.
| ABOUT IOWA |
- The Hawkeyes enter Friday's meet at 2-2 overall most recently dropping their meet with No. 3 Michigan.
- Earlier this season, Iowa claimed victories over Michigan State and Northern Iowa and narrowly fell to No. 22 Minnesota.
- Additionally, Iowa also competed at the SMU Classic finishing fourth behind Louisville, Auburn and Northwestern.
- The Hawkeyes enter the meet at No. 31 in the CollegeSwimming.com Poll.

- The Cyclones are 2-1 on the year most recently picked up a pair of victories against Omaha and St. Catherine University with wins in 11 of 16 events.
- Iowa State opened the season with a loss to Nebraska, a squad Rutgers will close out the regular season with on Jan. 31- Feb. 1 at the Rutgers Aquatics Center.

- Four Scarlet Knights earned a trip to the 2019 NCAA Championships, marking the sixth season in-a-row the State University of New Jersey had representation at the championships and the first time since 2007 three Scarlet Knight swimmers qualified.
- Returning from a NCAA appearance is sophomore Terka Grusova, who in her first season "On The Banks" placed 34th in the 100 backstroke and finished 47th in the 200 backstroke.
- Three divers qualified for Zones including returnees junior Lauren Boone and sophomore Jenna Douglass. On the 1-meter, Douglass qualified for the final and placed 11th out of the 64 divers in Zone A and totaled 505.50 for her 12 dives.
- Overall, three new program records were reset during the 2018-19 campaign and 21 new additions to the all-time Top 10 times and scores were cemented in addition to the program's first three Big Ten Championships medals in swimming events. Additionally, RU captured six dual meet wins and two invitational titles.
| TOP TIME HOLDERS |
- The Scarlet Knights return a trio of swimmers featured among the top times in Rutgers history set last season.
- Sophomore Terka Grusova placed her named in the all-time top 10 in three events as a freshman - 50 free (23.19), 100 back (52.03) and 200 back (1:54.70).
- Sophomore Kasja Dymek also captured a pair of top 10 times as a rookie - 100 fly (54.66) and 200 fly (1:59.80).
- Sophomore Katie Dougherty also swam to one of the fastest 200 fly finishes (2:01.81).
| I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER |
- Federica Greco and Terka Grusova along with 2019 graduate Vera Koprivova were competed at the 30th World University Game in Italy last summer, the most Scarlet Knights to be featured at the event.
- Swimming for host Italy, Greco posted the highest world finish of the week from the Rutgers trio. She turned in a 59.70-second butterfly leg in the 4x100-meter medley relay finals helping Italy to place sixth. Greco also qualified for the semifinals in both the 50- and 100-meter butterfly events with matching 14th place finishes.
- Grusova, competing for her native Czech Republic, went 3-for-3 in qualifying for semifinals in her trio of backstroke events and finished 12th in the 100, 15th in the 200 and 16th in the 50.
- Additionally, head coach Jon Maccoll served as an assistant coach for the Czech Republic National Team.

- The Scarlet Knights continue their march toward the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Clare Lawlor is gunning for the Irish National Championships (April 1-4), while Francesca Bertotto, Federica Greco and Giulia Ghidini look to book a spot at the Italian National Championships (April 1-4).
- Rutgers has also booked the USA Swimming TYR Pro Swim Series and the United States Olympic Trials on its schedule.

- Sofia Chichaikina (Fly/Free) – Three-time European Championship gold medalist with Russian relay team

- Aleksandra Ignatova (Breast) – Fifth place finisher in 200-meter breaststroke at FINA World Cup and member of the Russian Junior National Team
- Katelyn McCullough (Back/Free) – Three-time high school All-American
- Elinah Phillip (Fly/Free) – Swam in the 2016 Rio Olympics for the British Virgin Islands
- Daniela Vega (Free) – Junior National Championship qualifier and All-Conference from nearby East Brunswick

- Rutgers swimming and diving placed a program-record six Scarlet Knights on the 2019 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America individual awards list including returnees Federica Greco (Fly/IM), Lauren Boone (Diving) and Jenna Douglas (Diving).
- To earn Scholar All-America designation, a student-athlete must have participated in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships and achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or higher, either cumulative or during the semester of the corresponding championships.
- The team earned its 11th straight CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Award in June with a team GPA of 3.53 and placed 12 on the Academic All-Big Ten list.
