Baseball Adds Matt McIntyre to Recruiting Class

Westfield, New Jersey native joins Scarlet Knights
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball has added Matt McIntyre to its latest recruiting class. From Westfield, New Jersey, McIntyre will join the Scarlet Knights in the fall.

Notes: Playing third year of varsity baseball as a two-year starter at Westfield … hit .351 with 20 walks, 23 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and a .483 on-base percentage as a junior to help team to the Group 4 State Championship Game … an all-county mention in 2018 … played travel baseball for Full Count Baseball … named to Perfect Game All-Region Teams … also a track athlete in high school … part of group that won state championship in the 4x400 … earned First Team All-State in the 4x400 as well with No. 9 time in the country … also a 55-meter Group 4 finalist … a member of the undefeated state championship Westfield football team in 2017 as a two-way player … part of the National Honor Society … son of Carol and Frank McIntyre … father played baseball at Providence College … has and older sister, Sarah, an older brother, Kyle, and a younger brother, Robert … cousin, Danny McIntyre, played baseball at Steven Institute of Technology.
