Brito Named ABCCL All-Star Game MVP

First baseman posted .422 OBP this past spring
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Representing Rutgers baseball, Chris Brito earned the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL) All-Star Game MVP after hitting a three-run homer, as well as a sacrifice fly, Wednesday night at Weequahic Park in Newark. The rising junior entered slashing .439/.554/.860 with six homers and 26 RBIs in summer action.
During the limited spring season, Brito recorded a .422 on-base percentage for the Scarlet Knights, leading the offense with three long balls and 12 walks in 15 games. He also tied for first in the lineup with 11 runs knocked in. Brito started with a blast off the batter's eye at No. 3 Miami on Opening Day before going deep to the opposite field in the series finale. Then in the sweep at North Florida, he reached base 12-of-16 plate appearances with eight hits and six RBIs.
