Baseball Welcomes Nine on National Signing Day

Scarlet Knights add five position players and four pitchers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball and head coach Steve Owens officially welcomed nine student-athletes to the program on National Signing Day. The class includes Ethan Bowen (Medford, N.J.), Trevor Cohen (Brigantine, N.J.), Andrew Goldan (Watchung, N.J.), J.T. Kroner (Colonia, N.J.), Max Martin (Edgewater Park, N.J.), Xavier Massey (Audubon, N.J.), Wyatt Parliament (LaFargeville, N.Y.), Hugh Pinkney (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and Pablo Santos (Jersey City, N.J.). All signed a National Letter of Intent.
"The 2022 class will have a major impact on both the immediate and long-term success of our program," Owens said. "We are extremely excited about the baseball skill and talent that these young men have, in addition to their strong academic backgrounds and personal characteristics. They will fit in perfectly with the culture that we are building in our baseball program."

Ethan Bowen

Owens Quote: "Trevor has all of the tools to be an impact player in our program. He can run, hit for average and power from the left side and play high-level defense in centerfield."
Notes: Played varsity baseball at Holy Spirit since freshman year … hit .410 as a junior in 2021 with 19 RBIs to earned First Team CAL honors and win the state championship … batted .300 as a freshman … also played quarterback for the football team and won the state title as a sophomore and junior.

Andrew Goldan

Why Rutgers? "I chose Rutgers for their world-renowned academics and big campus. I also knew that I wanted to play baseball at a Division I school, and Rutgers has been building an amazing program under Coach Owens. Another consideration was that it is close to family and friends."
Owens Quote: "Andrew is a starting pitcher with a solid three-pitch mix. He competes at a very high level and wins. With his high-level commitment to training in the offseason, we expect his senior year to be outstanding."
