Why Rutgers? "I chose Rutgers because of the educational and athletic opportunities, and it being close to home."
Owens Quote: "Christian attended one of our camps this fall and performed at a very high level. He caught our eye with his advanced pitching ability, athleticism and size. He is an exciting player that we feel has a huge upside. We are excited about his addition to our staff and look forward to helping him develop to his potential."
Notes: Set for fourth year at Cedar Creek … earned NJ.com All-Group II Second Team after working to a 2.82 ERA in 28.2 innings with 38 strikeouts in 2021 … allowed only 15 hits … earned Cedar Creek Pitcher of the Year … ranked the 19th-best right-handed pitcher in New Jersey by Perfect Game … played travel baseball for the South Jersey Sand Sharks … picked up all-tournament honors at the 2018 WWBA Freshman World Championship … a Varsity Scholar each of first three years of high school.

Isaiah Pinkney
INF | 6-2 | 200 | R/R
Clayton, N.J./Audubon
Why Rutgers? "I chose Rutgers because it's close to home and having the comfort of knowing that my family is just a short distance away. Rutgers also drew my interest because it's known to be a strong academic institution with a diverse student population."
Owens Quote: "Isaiah emerged on our staff's radar after excelling in several tournaments we watched virtually during the initial COVID shutdown. He showed an advanced skill set in showcase settings and also performed very well in the games. Isaiah has a polished swing and hits for both average and power. Defensively, he plays well at both first and third base and provides us the flexibility to play either or both going forward. He will be a perfect fit in our school and program."
Notes: Set for second season at Audubon after playing at St. Joseph (Hamm.) first two years … went 20-for-63 (.317) as junior in 2021 … blasted four homers with 18 RBIs and drew 10 walks … ranked the sixth-best third baseman in New Jersey by Perfect Game … played travel baseball for Baseball Performance Center, Mid-Atlantic Baseball and All Out Baseball … named to over 20 all-tournament teams.
Personal: Son of Jacqueline and Terron Pinkney … has a younger sister, Mya.
