The Rutgers baseball team will be well-represented all over the northeast to compete in summer ball.
Colllegiate summer baseball leagues take the best players from all over the country and pit them against one another in wooden-bat leagues, mostly in the northeast. It is a prime opportunity for baseball players to display their abilities and continue to develop in the offseason.
The crop of Scarlet Knights competing this summer is highlighted by seven players in the Cape Cod League, the top collegiate summer league in the country. Dale Stanavich and Brian Fitzpatrick return to the Brewster Whitecaps, where they won a title last summer, and will be joined by Cape newcomer Ryan Lasko. Sam Bello moves from the Whitecaps to the Bourne Braves, where he is joined by Evan Sleight and Chris Brito. Newly-signed transfer Drew Conover will also compete for the Harwich Mariners on the Cape this summer.
