Event raised $25,000 for baseball program
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball hosted its 10th annual golf outing this fall on October 9th, on a crisp, sunny Monday at Forsgate Country Club. Nearly 100 golfers took place in the event, helping to raise $25,000 for the Scarlet Knights baseball program.
"Our annual golf outing was once again a tremendous success, with record participation and $25,000 raised for our program," head coach Steve Owens said. "I would like to thank all of our sponsors and participants who continue to make our outing a memorable day. I would also like to thank everyone on our committee and all of the volunteers who work incredibly hard to make sure the event is as successful as it is. We are already looking forward to next year as we continue to grow this event bigger and better!"
After the round of golf wrapped up, participants joined together for lunch and a reception. Golf awards for top finishers, longest drive and closest to the pin were given out, with the winners all receiving prizes.
During lunch, there was a silent auction for a number of golf and Rutgers Athletics experiences, as well as exclusive gift and apparel packages.
Head coach Steve Owens gave an address to all participants, highlighting another strong 2023 season and looking forward to an exciting 2024 campaign.
During the event, it was announced that the annual First Pitch Dinner will be held on January 13th at The Rutgers Club on Livingston campus. More information will provided in the near future.
