Nov 04 | Baseball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball announced its 2025 schedule on Monday. The Scarlet Knights will play 14 weekend series and as part of the new-look Big Ten, will now play 10 conference series compared to the previous number of eight.
RU will open the season just outside of Atlanta with a three-game series at Kennesaw State (2/14-16). The following weekend features a four-game set in Arizona at Grand Canyon, where the teams will play a Saturday doubleheader (2/21-23). The Lopes went 36-25 in 2024 and earned at at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, going 2-2 in the Tucson Regional. The third nonconference series of the season is at Coastal Carolina (2/28-3/2). The Chanticleers were 36-25 a year ago, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and going 2-2 in the Clemson Regional.
Big Ten play begins the first weekend of March with a three-game series at Bainton Field against Iowa (3/7-9). The nonconference slate wraps up the following weekend with a three-game series against Cal Baptist at Bainton Field (3/14-16).
RU will then play a pair of conference newcomers in back-to-back weeks, starting with a trip to Oregon. The Scarlet Knights will play Oregon State in a midweek contest before a Big Ten showdown at Oregon over the weekend (3/21-23). Both programs advanced to the Super Regionals of last year's NCAA Tournament and were ranked in the top-13 of the final Coaches Poll. The following week features another series against a Big Ten newcomer, with RU hosting Washington for three games at Bainton Field (3/28-30).
