PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball wraps up a five-game homestand against Hofstra on Tuesday under the lights at 6 p.m. at Bainton Field.
Zach Gleason will start the second straight midweek contest for the Scarlet Knights (13-15), who look to keep the momentum going after winning two-of-three against Washington over the weekend.
The Pride (10-17) will counter with Nick Gallello, a two-way player who has eight innings pitched across five appearances on the mound in 2025.
RU is looking to put the finishing touches on a five-game homestand that saw the team beat Princeton last Wednesday and beat Washington Saturday and Sunday to clinch its first Big Ten series of the season.
Landon Mack provided his third straight quality start on Saturday against the Huskies and his 3.15 ERA is third in the conference overall and first among freshmen.
As a team, Rutgers leads the Big Ten and is third nationally with a .985 fielding percentage, with the team owning a streak of 16 straight games without an error.
Trevor Cohen leads the team with a .348 average and is second in the Big Ten with 12 doubles, which also rank 22nd in the country. He is the toughest batter in the conference and sixth-toughest in the country to strike out, with just one strikeout every 18.7 at-bats. Cohen (No. 1), JT Thompson (No. 3) and Pablo Santos (No. 4) own three of the top four spots on the conference's toughest to strike out leaderboard.
Following Tuesday's contest, Rutgers will hit the road once again to take on Nebraska in a three-game set in Lincoln. RU has won its last two series against the Cornhuskers in 2024 and 2022.
