Why Rutgers? "I chose Rutgers because it is not far from home, and I understand the importance of being close. Rutgers also allows me to further my baseball career, as well as my academics, and has many majors that I'm interested in."
2023 (Sophomore)
Came on as defensive replacement in win at Monmouth (4/18) ... Picked up an RBI single in pinch-hit appearance at Mercer, scoring a run as well (3/17) ... Came on as defensive replacement in win at Wagner (3/7).
2022 (Freshman)
Started and went 2-for-4 with an RBI, walk and 2 runs scored against Iona (4/19) ... Started at catcher and went 1-for-3 with a career-high 3 runs and three walks in Lafayette win (4/13) ... Scored a run against Nebraska (4/10) ... Scored a run against Saint Peter's (3/30) ... Singled in the home opener versus Wagner (3/8) ... doubled in two runs for first hit at Richmond (3/5) ... walked and scored in collegiate debut at Houston Baptist (2/19).
Prior to Rutgers: Played four years of varsity baseball at Sussex Technical in Georgetown, Delaware … named First Team All-State and Second Team All-Conference by the News Journal in 2019 … played travel baseball for Titus Sports Academy and TKR Reds.
Personal: Son of Tina and Tim Shockley … has an older sister, Lindsay … cousin, Chad Reichhold, plays baseball at the University of Delaware … cousin, Chad Wien, played baseball at Frostburg State.
