Parkinson & Sternberg Join Baseball Recruiting Class

Scarlet Knights up to 14 student-athletes in 2018 recruiting class
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball has officially added two more student-athletes to its 2018 recruiting with the signings of Jack Parkinson and Brett Sternberg, head coach Joe Litterio announced. Both will join the Scarlet Knights for the fall semester.
Jack Parkinson
RHP | 6-1 | 180 | R/R
Haddonfield, N.J./Rowan College at Gloucester County/St. Augustine Prep
Notes: Pitched the last two seasons at Rowan College at Gloucester County … team ranked as high as No. 1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association's rankings … struck out 42 in 46.1 innings in 2018 with an 8-2 record … had three complete games … named First Team All-Garden State Athletic Conference and NJCAA Second Team All-America … also earned Academic All-America honors … played high school baseball at St. Augustine Prep … son of John and Shannon Parkinson … has two younger sisters, Kathryn, who plays field hockey at Towson, and Emily … interested in majoring in business.

Notes: Competed at Holy Ghost Prep … compiled a .396 batting average … a two-time First Team All-Bicentennial Athletic League selection in centerfield … served as a team captain senior year … a Carpenter Cup starter as a junior … played travel baseball for the Philly Bandits … earned a spot on the honor roll every year of high school … son of Michael and Janet Sternberg … has two sisters, Nicole and Tori.
