2020 (Redshirt Freshman): Pitched in two games without allowing an earned run ... named Academic All-Big Ten (6/10) ... went an inning versus Washington State (2/28) ... made collegiate debut with one inning of work at No. 3 Miami (2/16).

2019 (Freshman): Did not see game action ... redshirted.

Prior to Rutgers: Played three seasons as a starter at the varsity level for Glenbrook South High School … ranked the 53rd-best high school player and 18th-best right-handed pitcher in Illinois by PBR … played travel baseball with the Homestead Ranchers for five years … a three-time honor roll student … head sports director of Glenbrook South radio station WGBK.

Personal: Son of Andrew and Rebecca Newman … father played soccer at Western Illinois … has a younger brother, Scott ... a communication major.
