Prior to Rutgers: Ranked No. 29 overall prospect in New Jersey and No. 13 right-handed pitcher by Prep Baseball Report … played varsity baseball all four years at Columbia … posted a 2.28 ERA in 40 innings as a senior with 73 strikeouts … tossed a no-hitter against Caldwell with 14 strikeouts in seven innings … voted First Team All-Super Essex Conference by coaches … pitched to a 2.87 ERA as a junior with 53 strikeouts in 39 innings … voted Second Team All-Super Essex Conference by coaches … also played basketball in high school … National Honors Society member and honor roll student at Columbia.
