2016-17 (As a redshirt sophomore): Came back for an 8-7 decision against Indiana’s Jake Danishek at the RAC (Feb. 5) … placed seventh with a 5-2 mark at the 54th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) … defeated No.12-ranked Alfred Bannister (Maryland) twice in the tournament … went 2-1 with a fall at the Journeymen Tussle (Dec. 4) … had a major decision over Dan Reed, 13-1, in the dual against Columbia (Nov. 27) … took third at the East Stroudsburg University Open (Nov. 6).
2015-16 (As a redshirt freshman): Wrapped up his rookie campaign 17-16 overall and 11-9 in duals … went 0-2 at his first NCAA Championships (March 17-19) … finished sixth at the Big Ten Championships to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships (March 5-6) … recorded the first win by fall of his career against Princeton’s Trey Aslanian in 3:55 (Jan. 31) … wrestled for fourth place at the 53rd Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) … knocked off No. 5-ranked 2014 All-American Earl Hall of Iowa State, 5-4, to reach the semifinals before falling into consolations …. posted a 16-0 tech fall against Vince Rodriguez of George Mason at the “Grapple at the Garden” (Nov. 29) … secured a dominant 12-2 win over Oregon State’s Joey Palmer (Nov. 21) … topped UNC’s AC Headlee in tiebreakers, 6-4, with riding time at the Journeymen/Asics Northeast Duals (Nov. 15) … made his varsity debut at 133 pounds at the Rutgers Duals, going 3-0 with two tech falls and a decision (Nov. 1) … ranked No. 19 by FloWrestling to begin the year.
Prior to Rutgers: A four-time NJSIAA State placewinner at North Bergen ... won two consecutive state championships to close his high school career ... won in the state finals at 132 pounds as a senior and at 126 pounds as a junior ... also took third at the NHSCA Junior Nationals ... member of the USA Cadet World Greco Team ... represented the USA at the 2013 Cadet World Championships ... winner of the Dave Shultz High School Excellence Award.
