Five Scarlet Knights Named ABCA East All-Region

Cimillo, DiGeorgio, Lasko, Stanavich named First Team, Brito named Second Team
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 15, 2022) – Five members of the Rutgers baseball team received ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I East All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Wednesday.
The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee. ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections are subsequently nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.
The First Team honor comes as one of many for Lasko, who was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team, a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and received an invitation to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.
Cimillo adds All-Region First Team to his list of postseason accolades that include NCBWA District Player of the Year and All-Big Ten Second Team.
In addition to All-Region First Team, Stanavich was named to the All-Big Ten First Team and to the midseason watch list for NCBWA Stopper of the Year.
As one of four All-Region First Team honorees on Rutgers, DiGeorgio was also one of three Scarlet Knights to be named All-Big Ten First Team and is one of six finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award, given annually to the top shortstop in the country.
Brito rounds out the All-Region players for RU, picking up Second Team honors. He also received All-Big Ten Third Team honors for the second straight season and broke the Rutgers single-season RBI record with 74.
