The Scarlet Knights play their first road game since Feb. 18 riding a four-game winning streak
AMHERST, Mass. — No. 6 Rutgers men's lacrosse takes a four-game winning streak on the road at RV/RV UMass on Sat., March 18 at 1 p.m., streaming live on ESPN+. The Scarlet Knights' first road game since Feb. 18 will be played in Amherst, where Rutgers last played in 2008 as members of the ECAC.
ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
UMass is receiving votes in the coaches and media polls this week sporting one of the nation's top defenses at 8.5 goals allowed per game, ranking sixth in the NCAA. The unit is led by goalkeeper Matt Knote, whose 8.32 goals-against average ranks fifth in the country and a .629 save percentage coming in second in the nation this week. Massachusetts ranks 12th nationally in man-down defense at .750.
Gabriel Procyk leads the attack with 18 points on 14 goals and four assists, joined by Carter Castillo (15 points on six goals and seven assists) and Mike Tobin (14 points on five goals and nine assists) in double-digit point scoring.

The former ECAC rivals face off for the 19th time on Saturday. Massachusetts is 18-10 all-time against Rutgers with Saturday marking the first meeting between the squads since the ECAC Championship game on May 2, 2009, a 11-10 overtime victory for the Gorillas at Rutgers. The three most recent matchups between UMass and the Scarlet Knights have been decided by one goal with Rutgers winning in its last trip to Amherst, 7-6 on May 3, 2008. The series between Massachusetts and the Scarlet Knights began in Amherst on April 16, 1977, a 12-11 win for the Gorillas.
ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
- Rutgers is riding a four-game win streak entering Saturday's road game after claiming the Tots Meistrell Cup in a thrilling, 14-13 overtime victory against No. 13/14 Princeton at home last Saturday, marking the 100th playing of the in-state rivalry. Dante Kulas scored one of his four goals in the sudden-victory extra time to claim the cup, then was awarded with USILA National Team of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week accolades. Ethan Rall picked up 10 ground balls on his way to being named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
- Kulas, Brian Cameron, and Ross Scott all have 20 goals apiece this season to lead the attack, with Cameron leading the group with 29 points after his nine assists. Shane Knobloch (19 points on eight goals and a team-high 11 assists) and Jack Aimone (17 points on 14 goals and three assists) round out Rutgers' double-digit point scorers this spring.
- Kulas has taken efficient shots this season. The sophomore is shooting 0.541, good for fifth in the country and second in the Big Ten.
- Cameron, Kulas, and Scott all lead the Big Ten with their 2.86 goals per game (25th nationally).
- Goalkeeper Kyle Mullin has made all seven starts in the net for RU with a 9.87 goals-against average, ranked first in the Big Ten and 11th in the NCAA. His 0.541 save percentage is third in the conference and 18th nationally.
- RU has excelled in third quarters this spring, outscoring opponents, 31-12, through seven games. Over the last four contests, RU is outscoring opponents 21-5 in the third quarter.
- Rutgers has the nation's ninth-ranked man-up offense at a .538 clip, tops in the Big Ten. Kulas and Eric Civetti lead with two man-up goals apiece.
- The Scarlet Knights have been strong on both sides of the ball. The team's scoring margin of 5.43 leads the conference, and is ranked sixth nationally. RU ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring defense (9.71) and first in scoring offense (15.14).
- Rutgers has found success at the X this spring. The team's 0.572 faceoff percentage is fourth in the Big Ten. Jonathan Dugenio is 60-102 (0.588) and Joe Neuman is 47-82 (0.573). The duo ranks fifth and sixth in the conference, respectively.
- RU is second in the nation and tops in the Big Ten with just 12.57 turnovers per game.
- Ethan Rall is second all-time in caused turnovers with 71 in his career. The senior is 13 away from tying the program record that belongs to Nick Contino (2011-14), who had 84 as a Scarlet Knight.
- Brian Cameron is eight goals away from reaching 100 for his career. He scored 38 with UNC and 54 with Rutgers.
- Ross Scott is 16 goals away from reaching 100 for his career.
